Chinese or Japanese symbols in Access

If you suffer from symbols appearing in your table(s) and it doesn’t go with a ‘Compact and Repair’ there is another method which has worked for me.

Create a new blank access database
Open your corrupt database
right mouse click on the table
choose ‘Export’
browse to your new database

That should get rid of the problem - for now…

To use the feature:

go into Excel
choose ‘File - Open’.
Browse to your file

A nifty little program called CCleaner exists, which has many user adjustable cleaning options.
It is not a through/secure cleaner, but it quickly clears temp files, history, recent docs etc and also has the ability to scan for redundant registry keys and more…
