Rules in Outlook 2003 / 2007

If you would like emails that are from a certain person, sent to a particular group or contain certain words or phrases to go directly into their own folder - you can. Microsoft Outlook has a rules section, in which you can create rules which will deliver mail directly to a folder based on the criteria you require.

To use this feature:

  • create a folder (Right mouse click on ‘Inbox’ (or the folder you want it in) and selct ‘New Folder…’ ) name it as you wish
  • Click on ‘Tools - Rules and Alerts’
  • Choose ‘New Rule’ and follow the sections through
