User cannot change password but password change is forced

If a user tries to log in to email/domain and a password change is required but they cannot change the password, there may be an error in Active Directory.

  • Navigate to the user in AD
  • right click and choose ‘properties’
  • go to ‘Account’
  • Untick the box ‘User cannot change password’

If the box was ticked, removing the tick should correct the problem.
